| To "HS {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} " From "GWH {George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} " ---------- V5840 Hotel de France, Chateauroux(French test region), Indre, France. April, 13th 1927. I O - G - I I I. --------------- We arrived here from Paris tuesday evening the 12th. The steering of car is very much improved after adjusting up the cross steering tube. The springs in tube are apparently taking up a"set";which accounts for the very bad "Joggling" effects "RM {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} " complained of, and, which were the same up to Paris. The rear of car rides much better after fitting the stronger low pressure springs in the shock dampers. We have stopped the scuttle from "Jellying"by fitting two pieces of wood at either side of the cast dash;fastening the wood to the scuttle. The trouble with the scuttle is due chiefly to the "Jellying" effect of the front end of the Sub-frame,which is not rigidly enough supported. On our run down from Paris,we have lost a considerable amount of oil, and, which apparently is coming from the timing case. We are examining this,to see whether we can prevent it. G.W.HANCOCK. | ||
