| C. RM. {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} 606 DA. {Bernard Day - Chassis Design} 17/G.21.4.38. MARTINDALE WRAITH III. HAND BRAKE LEVER. Referring to the request for a rubber stop on the off position of the hand brake to eliminate a noise, we have suggested on G.CD.619 herewith a method of providing such a stop without altering any existing pieces and without additional drilling of the frame side members. Could it be tried by fixing a piece of rubber in the position shewn without the making of any moulds or dies. The rubber could be riveted to the bridge piece as well as being stuck to it for the purpose of the experiment. The only detail required is that of the rubber, and it may be considered hardly necessary to make that. We suggest also that the strength of the pull off spring should be progressively reduced until it only just prevents the hand brake lever from lifting. DA. {Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
