the class of petrol.

With regard to the position of the pumps,
I am naturally very sore about it. In the very hottest
conditions obtained here last year, we obtained all the
possible knowledge from our tests, proved that petrol was
vapourising in the pipe lines, obtained from Paris other
people's views, and where other manufacturers fitted their
pumps. The Alfa Romeo fit theirs direct on the tank.
All this information was turned down as of no value just
because the designers said "we havemade a nice looking job
and it will fit in fine under the bonnet". You must
admit that had an American firm obtained the practical
results, they would have appreciated it. This is of
course speaking of the Bentley, the Phantom is considerably
worse off as more heat is generated.

We have received the tyres and the brake
adjustments for which we thank you.
