OUR REF: HRP/LW.355.D. FORT DUNLOP ERDINGTON BIRMINGHAM Messrs. Rolls Royce Limited, DERBY. [Handwritten Initials: BRYL] 9th April, 1934. Dear Sirs, 7.00-18 Tyres for 40/50 HP. Chassis. We thank you for your letter of the 7th inst. which confirms the telephone conversation referred to in ours of the 6th inst. Arrangements are being made at once for a set of six wheels to be put in hand, these to incorporate 4.00x18 Well Base rims built up on the 20/25 HP. wheel shell to you part No.G.54809. In view of your remarks with regard to clearances we are instructing our Works to increase by 1/4" the offset of the 3.62x18 wheels previously supplied, this dimension representing approximately half the increase in sectional width between the 6.50-18 and 7.00-18 tyres. In other words, the present position of the inside line of the 6.50-18 tyre will be maintained. It is appreciated that you require the equipment as soon as possible and we will arrange for the wheels to be supplied in the shortest possible time. We confirm that the six tyres have already been sent forward. Yours faithfully, FOR THE DUNLOP RUBBER CO.LIMITED. [Signature: H.C. Price] Manager - Car Manfrs. Division. | ||
