Oliver Boden, Esq.,
Castle Bromwich Aeroplane Factory,

My dear Boden,

I propose coming over to have a look at Castle Bromwich on Monday November 27th. I am interested to see how the factory is progressing, and particularly to see when we are going to be called upon to deliver numbers of engines.

If you happen to be available on that day we may be able to have a chat on the repair and maintenance programme. I have never met Lord Nuffield, but I could explain to you what we are doing.

It was obvious to us that the arrangements which were in existence at the beginning of the war for repair and maintenance were nothing like adequate, and therefore we have anticipated the requirements, and have prepared a scheme which will enable us to handle 50 repair engines per week by the end of this year. We realise that the intention is that Messrs. Humberwill take on the Merlin(Aero Engine) repairs, but this will take time.

The fact that the war is not developing in the manner one would have anticipated means we look like having ample capacity for dealing with Rolls-Royce engines.

We are very pleased indeed at the manner in which Morris Radiators (I believe this is the right name) are tackling the aircraft radiator job. It has been quite refreshing to work with a radiator firm who have the necessary talent and energy.

Yours sincerely,
