| w/c. E.V. from Wor. {Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} Copy to Sy-Br. {T. E. Bellringer - Repair Manager} By-Br. {T. E. Bellringer - Repair Manager} Hs. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} X204 Wor {Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} 6/T13.6.33. Re Wheelarches - Bentley. In your EV {Ivan Evernden - coachwork} 2/8.5.33 you stated that you had sent us a sample wheelarch from Messrs Park Ward & Company, so that we could investigate the methods of manufacture and send you our views in a similar manner to that which we did for the Peregrine(Experimental Bentley car never produced / Aero Engine), and you further stated that in view of the rapidly approaching date when we shall be asking coachbuilders to commence work on the Show Cars you think the matter is rather urgent. I have been following this matter up with RHO. and find that a month after you have written the note we still have not received the wheelarch you promised. Will you kindly let me know by return when we can really expect this wheelarch. At our recent conference when you were present at Derby we also discussed the question of making bodies, wheelarches, foot boards etc. lighter, because we demonstrated what a great difference could be made if we could get things made in a lighter material. You were going fully into this question. Could you kindly let us know how far you have progressed. I think this is a very urgent matter and hope we shall be seeing you at Derby in a very short time to discuss these various problems. Further, we shall be much obliged if you will give these matters your immediate and urgent attention. Wor. {Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} | ||
