| -2- 1.375" G76811 The reason we want you to try this with the dry servo lining is because it is the original WW. scheme and R. {Sir Henry Royce} will want us to adhere to it if possible. (3) We anticipate that too much pedal pressure will be required and are therefore sending you some 35° cams (by post) which should be fitted instead of the 45° cams with the G.76811 lever 1.375" to complete the test. We then expect you to get the brakes equal to those you have at present (perhaps not so smooth) but with a rather greater feeling of sponginess on the pedal. You will appreciate we are trying : (a) To use a scheme as near the WW. as possible. (b) To use a dry servo lining to avoid complicating the SS. {S. Smith} problem by using an oiled servo lining of which we have had no previous experience. We should like a report on these four tests as soon as possible. We must run with reduced front braking to reduce the chance of squeaks. STEERING. We are interested in your steering reports. We should like to know how 22-EX steering, as you are running it, compares with 12-EX and 8-EX. | ||
