| To HPS. {Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} c. to RHC. {R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} 606 Rm {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} /AFM. {Anthony F. Martindale} 1/JH.9.7.37. Wraith Front Brake Levers. A bell crank lever GW.911 has failed on Wraith 25-G-VI. It is apparently too weak for its job and so we are getting drawings GW.911 and GW.912. altered. The die will have to be re-sunk to increase the size of the forging. We would not like Wraith 26-G-VI to go to France with these weak levers and so we have got a print of GW.911 marked by the designers to show the proposed alteration. If possible will you machine a pair of bellcranks from the solid to this drawing and fit them to 26-G-VI. Will you also put in hand six sets of die forgings: we will have to replace all these levers eventually. Rm {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} /AFM. {Anthony F. Martindale} | ||
