| HS. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} FROM R. {Sir Henry Royce} C. to SG. {Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} WOR. {Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} BY. {R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} GOSHAWK(Aero Engine)(Codename for 20HP Car / Aero Engine after Kestrel(Aero Engine)) 1. ENGINE. X5770 Ra/W26.11.31. Sent off 30.11.31. X5770 With reference to the above - i.e. the earliest 20HP., which was never adopted - we found there would be objections to using this engine even if the size were not too large for the speed programme. With reference to J. {Mr Johnson W.M.} 1. engine this consisted of a special cylinder head only on the lines of P. 2. and would not give the engine any different appearance to our standard engines P. 2. and J. {Mr Johnson W.M.} 3., and moreover it is now considered too large for the programme of supercharging; naturally aspirated it would not be much different to J. {Mr Johnson W.M.} 3.
