| To HPS. {Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} from Rm {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} /Std. c. Rm {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} /Wym. {G. Harold Whyman - Experimental Manager} 5 BLADE CADILLAC FANS FOR WRAITH. Will you please arrange to pack the three five blade fans which you are now completing (one for 26.G.VI) with grease in the following special manner. (1) Fill rear ball bearing by submerging it in molten high melting point grease and allowing grease to solidify before removing ball race. (2) Fill front ball race with normal ball race grease in an exactly similar manner. (3) Assemble the fan with the space between the rear ball race and the back cover plate filled with high melting point grease and the rest of the hub and front cover filled with normal ball race grease. We wish to try this in order to get over difficulties of ball races running dry. Rm {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} /Std. | ||
