| -2- KLAXON HORN. EP. {G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} complained that hehad been having great trouble with Klaxon horns. The Klaxon people seem very obliging, easy to get on with, and are out to replace any bad articles and help us all they are worth. We have returned 96 Klaxon horns which have been replaced by them. Mr. Wormald asked Mr. Bailey if he was satisfied that the Klaxon horn question was very well in hand. BY. {R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} agreed that it was and everything possible was being done. ------------------- REPAIRS. RADIATORS. Hm. {Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs} to get information re repairs - for conference tomorrow morning. WHEELS. Wd. {Mr Wood / Mr Whitehead} & Hm. {Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs} to go into question of repairing wood wheels with Messrs Holmes Bros. so as to ensure our supply of repair wheels, and to report to the meeting as soon as possible. Wd. {Mr Wood / Mr Whitehead} is of the opinion it will be possible in the future to get all our repairs done with the Dunlop people for the Dunlop wheels, but the trouble is for those wheels which are on the road at present, such as Sankey and Rudge Whitworth etc. By. {R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} , Wor. {Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} , and Hy. {Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer} to look into the suggestion which Hm. {Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs} submits that we repair wire wheels ourselves. ------------------- STEEL CASTINGS. Hs. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} is of the opinion that we should not just pick out Engine Feet but go over the whole of the steel castings on the chassis, with a view to finding out if there are similar troubles, then possibly submit the whole position to Mr. Royce. Agreed that BY. {R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} and Hs. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} go over all the steel castings on the car with a view to finding out if steel castings can be either got rid of, or what improvements can be made. ------------------- Wor. {Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} reported that great delay in the erecting of engines was being caused by the lack of Rotors and Engine Wheelcase castings. Wd. {Mr Wood / Mr Whitehead} stated 30 of the latter having been scrapped out of the last 37, because of faulty die castings. | ||
