Re Aero Cushion India(Production 20 HP. with 4-speed box and Front Wheel Brakes) Tyres 6 x 16. We have carried out comparative tests with the 5.50 x 18 and the 6 x 16 tyres. The Aero Cushion 6 x 16 with 30 lbs. pressure hot is the better tyre for road holding. The ride is smoother in so much, that the small frequent shocks are absorbed by the tyres and are not transmitted to the springs. We have not got a really smooth road to obtain a true comparison for noise, but we shall say they are no worse than the 5.50 x 18. The Aero Cushion 6 x 16 are definately worse at 28 lbs. pressure (hot) for cornering, at high speed, than the 5.50 x 18. The rear of the Car skids round with a feeling that the tyres are doubling under. On real rough stuff, there is not the severe shocks transmitted to the front seats. Rear seat riding, one cannot say there is a great improvement. It is good with the 5.50 x 18 Tyres. The test has been carried out with the tyres fitted to the wheels. We understood that one set was a four ply canvas and the other a six ply. The Tyres sent out are not marked in any way to distinguish them. Will you please inform us which are the six ply.
