PHANTOM FRONT BRAKES.

With reference to Mx {John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer} 2/T22.10.26. we have no scheme for preventing the rattle of front brake shoes on the present type front brakes, but on the new lightened type front axle the side play of the brake shoes is controlled by distance pieces similar to the present 20 HP. chassis front brakes, therefore we propose to modify the clearances in order to reduce the side movement to a minimum.
