| To Bentley Motors Ltd. Derby............Rm {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} /GRY. {Shadwell Grylls} Levallois, Sr/VA.9/HB. {C. E. Harcombe} 24.7.39 re: COMPLAINT REPORT N° P.259 ------------------------ Chassis B.6.MR 1240 With reference to Rm {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} /GRY. {Shadwell Grylls} 2/MH. {M. Huckerby} 10.7.39, the wear in question had taken place on one side of the G.54840 adjusting washer (on the side nearest to the inner end of the coupling flange) there was also a certain amount of wear on the inner end of the coupling flange. Prior to taking out the end play it was possible to insert a .020" feeler gauge between the G.54680 clamping washer and the outer face of the coupling flange. We left .002" end float. We are keeping a close eye on the car and will let you know should there develop an increase in the existing .002" end float. Sr/VA. | ||
