| LES x7600. To BY. {R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from E. {Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} E.1/HP.7.7.32. c. Hs. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Phantom II Wheel Carrier. GWH. {George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} reports from Chateauroux(French test region) that the bolts fixing the wheel carrier to the frame and dashboard stiffener have broken during test. The present size of these bolts is .312. We should be glad if you would increase this to .375”. We think the alteration can be made without modifying the wheel carrier stampings. A slight increase of the diameter of the facing appears possible to accommodate the new diameter of nut, which is .7 over the corners. As regards the dash stiffener connected to the dashboard, this looks as if it would take the .550 head in place of the .500. The drawing on which the stiffener is shown is LEC.3021. A set of larger bolts is being sent out to GWH. {George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} for test. (See to this) Hs {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} E. {Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} | ||
