EXHAUST SILENCERS.

We have had no trouble and condition is good, they are now quite satisfactory. The heat guard is O.K.

EXHAUST SNOUT AND SWAN NECK.

These are in good condition.

EXHAUST CUT OUT.

To LOP. F.77357. The cutout gives a healthy bark to the exhaust, the performance of the car with cutout open is increased by 2.75%. We have had one occasion of it sticking, the controls becoming jammed with dirt. The condition of the controls at finish was O.K.

HOT SPOT FEED PIPE TO DRGS. E.77115/17/20.

The pipe shews a bad scaling otherwise it is O.K.

SPRING DRIVE AND SLIPPER WHEEL. LOP.E.74485

Using cotton duck washers R.7640/1 in conjunction with lighter springs Goshawk(Aero Engine)(Codename for 20HP Car / Aero Engine after Kestrel(Aero Engine)) type.

We have not examined the slipper wheel but we have not had any signs of trouble. The absence of periods from the engine points to functioning O.K.

AUTOVAC.

We have had no trouble with the Autovac. There has been a plentiful supply of petrol at all speeds. There was at the beginning a shortage but this was found to be an incorrect setting of the petrol tap, the holes not being opposite did not allow the maximum flow.

CARBURETTER. LOP. E.70893.

We had during the first 2000 miles trouble with the air valve sticking. This always happened during and after passing other cars during fine weather, the dust being the cause. This complaint has been more frequent on this car than previously. We believe the cause was due to the undershield being left off causing a swirl of dust to enter the bonnet from the rear. This was most noticeable during the wet weather when the rear of the engine became covered with dirt, to such an extent that the throttle controls became sluggish. The dust, besides jamming the air valve, caused the throttle spindle to become sluggish. We have had no other trouble with the carburetter.

STARTER MOTOR.

This has functioned perfectly throughout the test. The condition of the motor was O.K. when examined.
