3rd October, 1941.

W. A. {Mr Adams} Robotham Esq.,
Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd.
Derby.

Dear Rm {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} ,

In connection with the production of the Myth Chassis Frames and Body on the 1st July I asked your people to provide a permit to cover the purchase of 20 cu.ft. of hardwood from which to make the patterns.

A certain amount of correspondence has passed between us, but I am still without the permit.

To avoid holding up the work I have had to borrow suitable timber from War Contracts, and in consequence I am now in the unpleasant position of having insufficient to produce Jigs and Patterns for the production of important parts against orders from people like The De Havilland Aircraft Co., The Bristol Aeroplane Co., etc. so I must ask you to be good enough to see that the permit for which I asked on the 1st July is sent to me without further delay.

Yours sincerely,
