In reply to your memo. EFC {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} /T1.12.21 we have now sent you the improved arrangements that allow of a larger and simpler condenser scheme, better than the Bosch and easier and nearer than the Delco; it is intended for paper but can be anything that is found suitable owing to its flat design. Also owing to its large and square proportions less plates are needed and the connections are shorter than in the Bosch and others. As regards capacity, unless a further test shews reasons to the contrary my impression is that we ought to use a condenser of .4 micro-farad (certainly not less than .3 if your tests are confirmed in other sets) being slightly larger than the best for maximum regular sparking; this ensures ample protection for the points.
