re. 20-HP. Faulty Water Pump. G.E. Neale Esq.
Chassis No. GA-39.

We are returning to you a further case of a water pump which has failed due to the rotor becoming loose on the spindle.

The complaint was that the water system was at fault, and on investigation it was found that the pump was not circulating. The drive of the pump, however, seemed quite in order and the pump was replaced.

An examination of the pump revealed the fact that the rotor had stripped on the thread of the spindle and the split pin was missing. Care was taken to try to find the split pin, but our man reports that there was no sign of this in the pump.

This is the second case of 20-HP pump failure in service. The last one you will remember was reported from 'N'. We would refer you to our EP {G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} 3/H18.2.24 and your BY6/P19.2.24 and our further memo EP {G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} 2/H22.2.24. We have also referred to this trouble in our memos "20-HP Chassis. Failures in service and on test and Complaints from customers." (EP {G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} 1/H6.3.24. Item No.103.)
