PHANTOM OVER-RUN TORQUE.
We have made a test of the friction H.P. of the Phantom 11 engine at 1000 R.P.M. by the method of cutting out cylinders - with speed remaining constant - and obtaining the average H.P. drop per cylinder.
The friction H.P. at 1000 R.P.M. (i.e. the power to rotate the engine) is 7.9 H.P.
The actual H.P. developed was 54.9. With friction H.P. of 7.9 the indicated H.P. would be 62.8 giving a mechanical efficiency of 87.4%.
