YOUR REF.______ OUR REF. THS/BMM

H.Leslie Esq.,
Messrs.Rolls Royce Limited,
DERBY.

8th
July
1937

Dear Mr.Leslie,

With reference to your telephone message to-day I have looked into the Works and found these four back plates had been made. The eyes are certainly now a very much better job, but as you objected to our welding, we have tried to carry out the drilling by some other method.

The reason for our welding was simply to make a solid body through which to drill, owing to the hole coming into the Scarf [staff crossed out] of the eye.

With any luck I shall be able to send you the two black back plates tomorrow or Monday, and the remainder a day or two afterwards.

Yours sincerely,

T H Sanders
