SHOCK DAMPERS.

With reference to BY1/GLO631, we discussed BY11/G21531 with R. {Sir Henry Royce} as soon as we received it, and he agreed to substitute either the square or parallel serration, whichever was best from the manufacturing point of view.

We have not however sent you the necessary drawing as we have been extremely busy with gearboxes, and since there are other experimental points to be settled on N. sch. 3264, - notably the double acting valve - and since you have a satisfactory damper for production, we thought that there was no immediate hurry, or any real necessity to break down the gearbox work.

We shall be sending you instructions in the course of the next few days we expect.
