| F. {Mr Friese} Dodd 1042 file S/W. {Sales / Derby Works} Rm. {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} -> C. to Br. {T. E. Bellringer - Repair Manager} C. to Br. {T. E. Bellringer - Repair Manager} Please, let me have information 25-G-VI Experimental. Rm {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} CmD/KW 20.2.40. Arising out of your Rm. {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} 3/MH {M. Huckerby} 8.2.40, we have, as you doubtless know, received 28-G-VI instead of 25-G-VI and replaced it with GUL-22. 28-G-VI will of course be got ready for sale, and we ought, therefore, to have it renumbered in accordance with the series to which it belongs. Would you therefore kindly let me know to what specification this particular chassis conforms, with a view to giving it a chassis number of the A.B. or C. Wraith series. You say that 28-G-VI is a reasonably standard chassis, so I gather you will be able to easily identify it with one of the above series. As, however, there would appear to be some details which are not standard presumably it is desired that these should be replaced, and I would be glad therefore to know if you are instructing Br. {T. E. Bellringer - Repair Manager} as to what in your view should be done in this respect. Cx. {Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager} Rub. Am Special features on this engine are:- 1. Flush top Aerolite pistons. 2. Std valve size cylinder head in special material (molybdenum) - not latest strengthened combustion chamber. 3. Oil seal washers in top spring caps. ECD. 846. 4. narrow cam camshaft with vertical tappets having flat faces. Other than item (3) we do not wish to retain any of the above. | ||
