| SECRET [Signature] 6/2. BY. {R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} C.C. Dr. Hs. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Mr. HIVES [Strikethrough] Wraith II Clutch. It was found that with the aluminium front cover and extension for the thrust bearing, the differential expansion is sufficient at the temperature reached on the dynamometer test to take up the clearance provided between the extension and the bearing housing. It is thought that an extra .001" clearance will suffice to remedy this trouble and, therefore, we shall be glad if you will kindly reduce the outside diameter of the extension by this amount. [Handwritten] Will .001 cover on limits? v E {Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} /HDY. {William Hardy} | ||
