| ORIGINAL E.S. ) FROM R. {Sir Henry Royce} C. to SG. {Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} WOL. RV. EA. R2/M10.8.32. X6134 PEREGRINE(Experimental Bentley car never produced / Aero Engine) STARTER MOTOR. This (I understand) is a smaller specimen of our sequence type simplified from P. 2., and like J. {Mr Johnson W.M.} 3., but at present is too easily stalled, because - (1) the size is too small, (2) the winding is too fine, or (3) the gear ratio is not great enough. No. (1) should be compared with the Bosch on the Alfa Romeo, and not altered if reasonable, and we can get satisfaction. By altering Nos. (2) and (3) say 25 to 30% we might fairly easily get double the available maximum torque to engine flywheel. (WST) See me H {Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} /E R. {Sir Henry Royce} | ||
