5th. Oct. 1928.

Messrs. Benton & Stone Ltd.,
Bracebridge Street,
Birmingham.

Dear Sirs,

For the attention of E. {Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Milner Esq.,

We have now proved that we definitely require more filtering area to give us reasonable immunity from trouble in repeatedly having to clean the filter. We would therefore ask you to give us the largest dia. plates you can get into the existing filter whilst keeping the width of the rim as at present. The duralumin plates seem to be quite satisfactory so far.

We propose to use aluminium bowls only for this filter if we standardise it, and should therefore like a sample of the lightest you can produce.

Our test on the Continent starts in 10 days, and anything you can let us have by then will have a chance of being tried out with the minimum delay.

Yours faithfully,
