Hs {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} /Rm. {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} 5/KT. February 4th 1933.

The S.U.Company,
East Works,
Bordesley Green Road,
Adderley Park,
B'Ham.

For the attention of Mr.T.C.Skinner.

Dear Mr.Skinner,

Thank you for your letter of Feb. 3rd.

The petrol pumps are at present quite satisfactory.

With regard to the carburetters, Mr.Elliott has decided that he cannot make a satisfactory design with the two carburetters between cylinders one and two, and five and six. We are therefore having to do the best we can with the old position. We should be better off than previously because we shall have more heat. Additionally we think we can silence the carburetter roar so that we shall be able to reduce the passage between the two halves of the induction pipe.

As soon as we have the position set out on the test bed, we shall put it on the car and let you have it again. Incidentally we should be obliged if you would let us have one or two more needles suitable for the carburetters as they were returned to us from B'ham.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED.
