STREAMLINE(Experimental Streamline Bentley B.23.A.E) BENTLEY.

As requested we have analysed the projected performance of the proposed Bentley Streamline(Experimental Streamline Bentley B.23.A.E)d car, basing our assumptions that the maximum speed of 200 kilos a l'heure (125 M.P.H.) was derived by the Reflexion Method of Wind Tunnel testing, and that it was assumed that of the 140 H.P. at the clutch, 93.5% was available at the road wheels, i.e. 131 H.P.

It will be seen from the appendix that when the theoretical or wind tunnel value of K is corrected by proportional analysis between a theoretical and an actual K, for the standard Saloon, results would lead us to believe in a maximum speed of approx. 116.5 M.P.H. (186.5 kilos a l'heure).

Since, however, our road tests on the standard Bentley shewed us only 78.4% of the clutch horse power at the road wheels, we suggest that with 140 clutch horse power we may expect only 110 road wheel horse power and a maximum speed of 109.5 M.P.H. (or 175.5 kilos a l'heure).
