Referring to Rm {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} /GWH. {George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} 3/R.5.12.36. I find that the treatment of the steel bushes by plating with cadmium was only brought in during 1935 on the rear brakes. In regard to the front brakes, this was introduced later still owing to the bronze bushes collapsing under the bolt load. I am still satisfied that cadmium plating is an adequate protection for the parts in question, and it is very much cheaper than the only other alternative viz. the use of stainless steel parts.
