| SG. {Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} FROM DA {Bernard Day - Chassis Design} /EV. {Ivan Evernden - coachwork} C. to R. {Sir Henry Royce} WOR. {Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} HE. BV. G. {Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} re. BENTLEY. As we have had so many different editions of Bensport(Codename for 3 1/2-litre Bentley), we think it should be made clear now we have classed our drawings. The nomenclature is as follows: (1) Supercharged O.H.V. 2.5 litre, called Bensport(Codename for 3 1/2-litre Bentley) 1. or B. 1. (2) " Peregrine(Experimental Bentley car never produced / Aero Engine), Bensport(Codename for 3 1/2-litre Bentley) 2. or B. 2. (3) Bentley with J. {Mr Johnson W.M.} 1. engine and central levers, Bensport(Codename for 3 1/2-litre Bentley) 3. or B. 3. (4) Bentley with J. {Mr Johnson W.M.} 1. engine and side levers, as finally agreed to, called Bensport(Codename for 3 1/2-litre Bentley) 4. or B. 4. To coachbuilders we use the word 'Bentley B.' and not Bensport(Codename for 3 1/2-litre Bentley). The latest chassis to them is Bentley B. 4.
