TO BY. {R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} FROM AJS.
Copy to - HS. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}

AJS1/M9.6.25.

We have received from OY. the enclosed print No. 439-A. {Mr Adams} of Mechanic universal joint for Goshawk(Aero Engine)(Codename for 20HP Car / Aero Engine after Kestrel(Aero Engine)). We are sending this print to you as the pieces for brazing on to propeller shaft tube are not quite the same as our standard dimensions.

OY. says that joints to this drawing have actually been ordered, as Mechanic Machine Co. were unable to produce the large socket as we asked for on rear joint. It means we shall have to braze the propeller shaft tube on the outside of both connecting pieces.

Also enclosed herewith is a pamphlet dealing with these joints.

AJS.
