EP. {G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}

8.9.14.

Mr. Johnson instructs me to ask
you whether you have at present any car
which you wish to have run for any
considerable mileage for the purpose of
testing any improvements.

He considers that with work I am
about to take up I could usefully use
such a car instead of 49EB.

Will you kindly let me know.

A.M.H.

[Handwritten]
As regards engine tests we want to run some new scraper ring pistons for a long distance.

We could fix up the proposed Ferodo lined brake at a fairly early date but we have not the parts yet. It would be better to run these rather than a standard car.
