WRAITH SUGGESTED MODIFICATIONS TO SPRING SUSPENSION.

Referring to EY/TWD. {T. W. D’Aeith} 1/E.2.4.37., please receive our considered opinion of the suggestions made.

S. 1. End Cover for Valve Block could, with slight alterations to design, be made the same for Phan.lll and Wraith. (N.Sch. 4855). G.83733 and GW.735.

A. {Mr Adams} We agree with a slight alteration in design the valve block end cover could be standardised for both Phan.lll and Wraith. The location for the wraith valve block is not foolproof as the shouldered stud can be screwed in any of the four holes in rear cover GT.739. We suggest this stud be altered to a standard .250 dia stds and a hole .2812 in the valve block to suit.

S. 2. Could the studs for the Bellows End Cover be the standard type studs? This type of Stud is not used on Phan.lll.

A. {Mr Adams} Would require larger size stud in aluminium than in steel.

S. 3. Could the new Ventilator (N.Sch.5090. Rear Axle) be adapted for use on the main Lever Housing?

A. {Mr Adams} Doubtful if suggested type of ventilator would answer the purpose. Should expect oil leak from the main Lever Housing. The housing could also require a modification.

S. 4. Use standard Plug KH.1062 to replace F.10812 Oil Drain in Main Spring Housing.

A. {Mr Adams} Standard plug could be used.
