Rm {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} /Wym. {G. Harold Whyman - Experimental Manager} Rm {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} /NRC. {N. R. Chandler} 4/WH.28.10.38. WRAITH, FLYWHEEL FLUTTER TESTS. Please fit the existing brass ring Rm. {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} 505, to the next Wraith engine to go on the bed. This will only mean drilling and tapping 8 - 2.B.A. holes in the 11" B & B clutch, no other parts being necessary. This clutch is to be fitted up first on a standard flywheel, and afterwards please fit to the same engine the Rm. {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} 533 flexible flywheel now being made for 25.G.VI, using the same clutch and brass ring. After trying on the test bed engine, fit the same flywheel and ring to 25.G.VI so that we can compare the vibration observed on the test bed with the vibration when mounted in the chassis. There is now available, an instrument for recording flutter, which operates from the brass ring through the clutch inspection door. Rm {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} /NRC. {N. R. Chandler} | ||
