Hs {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} /Lid {A. J. Lidsey} 3/KT29.7.33. This is to confirm what I have already reported to you on the 'phone, that although we tested a Bentley axle with the sample of Mobiloil "EP {G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} " supplied, the test was not conclusive as unfortunately a certain amount of Wakefields No.1. Gearease Oil was present in the axle, owing to the fact that it is a standard practice to smear a certain amount of this oil on the gears during assembly. As we were at the end of the 15 chassis we were unable to make a further test. Mx {John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer} [Signature] | ||
