| 81487! Expl. Dept. Hs {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} /Rm. {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} 5/MJ. 20th. December 1932. The S.U.Carburetter Co., East Works, Bordesley Green Road, Adderley Park, BIRMINGHAM. For the attention of Mr. Skinner. Dear Mr. Skinner, Further to our conversation on the telephone today. We shall be sending the car over on Wednesday of next week. The car will be fitted with the proposed induction pipe, the thermostat mixture control, and the air silencer, so that you will have all the conditions that will exist in the final job. We should like to use water heating for the hot spots on these carburetters, but have alternatively made provision for two exhaust heated hot spots. You will probably be able to tell us which you prefer when you have gone a bit further with your tests. We consider that with a thermostat mixture control and thermostat radiator shutters the water heated hot spot might do all that is required because the distribution seems reasonably good on the pipe without heat. The air silencer looks formidable but all you will be interested in is to ensure that the bends of the carburetter do not spoil the consumption etc. Naturally, we shall be willing to fit any bends which will go under our bonnet which you decide give the best results. We shall have an exhaust pipe within the next ten days and will change it over for you as soon as it is available. | ||
