Dear Mr.Hives,

Many thanks for yours of the 17th inst.

I am glad to hear that you propose commencing your tests with our Oil at the end of the present week, but in your letter you do not state whether it will be convenient for Mr.Dick and myself to come down near the completion of the test.

You will perhaps consider me a nuisance but I am most enthusiastic over the Oil we have sent you, and subject to your approval, would very much like to be in at the death.

Would you be kind enough to let me know if it is possible to accede to my request.

Yours very truly,
J. {Mr Johnson W.M.} Draude
