Re 20/25's. Thanks for your Sg {Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} 7/H16.4.31. Hs. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} , EY., Roy. {Mr H. Royce - Buyer} and myself have had a discussion on your memo, and we think we ought to go as far as possible to introduce as many new features on "T" Series, tested out for 10,000 miles on 18-G-IV, and possibly others which will need testing. Further, in view of severe competition and the great need for introducing every possible feature that will improve performance and appearance, a careful survey on this matter is essential. For instance, Roy. {Mr H. Royce - Buyer} tells us that he is only committed for Radiators for the first 50 on "T" Series, so that we shall be able to get a still further improved radiator.(the second 100 on Could you kindly get Sales to let us know how far they are committed for bodies for "T" Series, because this is connected with Radiators and Dash. Hs. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} , EY. and Roy {Mr H. Royce - Buyer} are going to study this position carefully, and later on in the week Hs. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} and EY. will be able to come to London and discuss the whole matter with you thoroughly. Until this discussion is completed, Roy. {Mr H. Royce - Buyer} is holding up material which is likely to be affected by any of these new features on the last 100 "T" Series. I took this decision because I thought you would agree that it is essential, even if we have some delay in production with the last 100 on "T", it is important in view of the delay on Japan(Experimental Engine) III, to get as many improvements on "T" Series as we can.
