The Earl of Rothes,
The India(Production 20 HP. with 4-speed box and Front Wheel Brakes) Tyre & Rubber Co.Ltd.,
80, Clapham Road,
London, S.W.9.

Dear Rothes,

Thank you for your letter of May 11th.

We have tried out the 6 x 17" tyres, and though in all other respects they appear to be an improvement on the present standard tyre, they are deficient in cornering properties. At the present moment the only method we know of improving the cornering properties of a tyre is to fit it to a wider rim. Mr. Worth has already told us that he does not like using appreciably wider rims than those supplied with this size of tyre, but in view of the results obtained perhaps he would like to reconsider the position.

We believe we are right in saying that the reputation of the India(Production 20 HP. with 4-speed box and Front Wheel Brakes) tyre as built up on the Bentley has been due more to its road holding ability than to any other one feature of the tyre.

Yours sincerely,
