| Halliwell Enc. ALLAN V. {VIENNA} NUTT, SOLICITOR. TELEPHONE 1019. AVN/ME. St. {Capt. P. R. Strong} James's Chambers, Derby. 28th July 1930. Dear Mr. DeLooze, RECEIVED In accordance with your request I wrote to Mr. Halliwell Senr. with reference to his letter of the 14th inst. addressed to Mr. Hives and herewith enclose copy of letter which I have received in reply. Mr. Halliwell appears to think that it was the intention of your Company to re-imburse him for any expense to which he was put in connection with his Son's death. I thought the reference to expenses contained in Mr. Halliwell's letter to Mr. Hives might refer to some expenses which would form a legitimate claim against the Estate but, of course, none of the items mentioned in his letter are legally chargeable to the Estate and if Mrs. Halliwell thought fit to refund the whole or any portion of such expenses it would be purely a voluntary act on her part and the monies would have to come out of her share in her Husband's Estate. I certainly do not consider there is any moral obligation of any kind on Mrs. Halliwell to do this. Perhaps you will kindly let me know what your views are upon the matter. I am expecting Mrs. Halliwell to come over to Derby on or about the 11th August. Yours faithfully, Allan V. {VIENNA} Nutt Villa Vita, Littleover. | ||
