(10) FLYWHEEL & CLUTCH TO LOP C.76591.

'The clutch is smooth in action no jaggers have
'developed through the test. The clutch is very
'prone to slip after oiling the clutch universal
'joint situated in the flywheel. It would appear
'that the oil retaining groove is not capable
'of dealing with any excess of oil, this was
'pointed out in the early stages. The amount of
'oil put in the shaft has not exceeded 15 cc per
'2000 miles. We have previously had trouble with
'the universal joint not having sufficient oil'.

Remarks: Will Mr D'Aeth please let me see these parts, and
we will arrange to alter the holes to allow oil
to get away.

(11) PROPELLOR SHAFT AND UNIVERSAL JOINTS N.S.2547
STRENGTHENED TYPE 6" MECHANICS JOINTS,USING
EXISTING COUPLING FLANGE G.76829 PROPELLOR
SHAFT G.76850 WITH OVERSIZE TAPER PINS. TRUNION
BEARINGS DRILLED AND GROOVED TO EX.3818 OTHERWISE
TO LOP G.76851.

'The joints have not lost more than approximately
'1% of oil after making the joint faces oil
'tight. This was accomplished by fitting
'paper washers and the use of a sealing liquid
'called Hermetique. We find that on maximum bump
'the propellor shaft just fouls the cross member.
'The clearance with the car standing is 3.750
'with a rear buffer clearance of 4.750".

Remarks: Will Mr Booth please check for clearance. We ought
to be clear when the buffer is compressed our
regulation amo-unt.

(12) FRONT AXLE AND BRAKES TO LOP G.77305 MODIFICATION
TO AXLE PIVOTS FOR AIR TO N.S. 2756 GL. {G. Linnett} 307.

'The O {Mr Oldham} /S brake drum was very much scored through
'the excessive braking. The brake linings became
'dry and the inside of the drums, brake mechanism
'was covered with black powder. Under these
'conditions squeaks were prevallant. We have
'since reduced the percentage of front braking,
'which is giving us results equal to the present
'Phantom.
