I O - G - I I I.
We have wired you toady as follows:
YOUR LETTER STATES DATE 13-5-27 STOP
C.W.B. LETTER STATES DATE 23-5-27 STOP.
WHICH DATE IS CORRECT ? STOP WIRE REPLY.
HANCOCK.
We were not certain which dates were correct, and, if the letter of "C.W.B." giving the date as 23-5-27,this means that we shall have to remain here an other ten days. There is no mention of this in your note attached to "C.W.B.'s letter.
We wired you because the alteration of dates alters all our financial conditions here, and it means that we have either to cancel or otherwise our arrangements re/: money from Paris, settling up bills here;the wages from England, and, general winding up.
It leaves the situation very unsatisfactory as to what action should be taken. We should be very pleased if you could give us definite dates, which would help us considerably.
We reported on our day trip sheet, that the starvation previously reported was not due to petrol shortage caused by the filter. We took the plates out of the filter, thus making it a free passage, the symptoms of starvations were just the same, and,we definitely proved that this only occured when we got to the stage of the valves bouncing, immediately we got just under the period of bouncing, the symptom vanished, and, vice versa. We have refitted the filter,so that it's usefulness may be observed.
The steering of this car is bad, there is no mistake about it.We have tried different loads on the cross steering tube, checked up several times the springs andthe ball ends in the side steering tube we have also altered the tow in of the front wheels;at the present moment this is 3/16";balance of tyres have been carefully checked
