Mr Morris' new car (1557) is -

fitted with 895/135 wheels and should have a ground clearance of 7"

If " " the small flywheel the clearance would be increased to ... 7½"

If " " a new front axle and blocks under the rear springs the clearance would be increased to ... 8¾"

If " " 935/135 wheels the clearance would be increased to ... 9½"

Mr Morris' old car (1167) had a clearance of about 7¼", so that it will be seen that his new car is ¼" worse than his old car. (It should be noted that the figure given for the clearance on his old car is an estimate based upon cars in our repair shop).

As regards changing the flywheels on Colonial cars which have already been turned out, to do this efficiently it will be necessary to have the cars back at Derby. Or, in any case it would be necessary for us to have the crank-shaft back in order to fit the new flywheel.
