Hollingworth} 24.7.41. 1621 404 Regarding the attached memo from Hn. {F. C. Honeyman - Retail orders} to Sg. {Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} , I append my remarks on some of the items. 1. Air Conditioning. This is a matter which you have undoubtedly considered. I suggest that it should be dealt with by specialists if satisfactory results are to be obtained. 2. Lightened Body on B.V. We have asked Messrs. Wilmot-Breeden to supply us with prints of the fittings which we have suggested should be used on this body and which are being used on Myth, as soon as they are available, they will be sent to Park Ward so that they can see what modifications will be necessary to the body for their accommodation. 3. Corniche(Bentley streamline(Experimental Streamline Bentley B.23.A.E)d precursor to R Type Continental, never produced). No remarks. 4. Coupe for Myth. There appears to be some misunderstanding by Park Ward with regard to this. It is understood by us that we shall make a full sized layout of this body, incorporating as many parts of the saloon body as possible. 5. Drawings for Rationalised Production. Park Ward are making slow progress with this work, which is accounted for by the amount of war work they have in hand, and the small drawing office staff that they have to deal with it. Before my visit to their works, I was under the impression that no work had been done on the new B.V. body layout. The surprise shown was that some drawing had been done, not at the rapid progress made. 6. B.V. Coupe. A certain amount of investigation has been made by us with a view to stiffening the existing front end, and we have come to the conclusion that to get the necessary stiffness, the construction will have to be completely changed. This work is down for attention by us after the Myth bodies have been dealt with. 7. Myth Parts. - No remarks. Rm {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} /EAG. | ||
