Re. Mr. E.R.Hall's Car.

Replying to Sg. {Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} 2/E.18.2.35.

We have looked into this matter and we attach herewith a list of the work and the time booked to this car.

Item (1). - Last August, when preparing the car for the T.T. Ev. {Ivan Evernden - coachwork} did wind tunnel tests on this car (See report

In that report it was shown that one way of increasing the speed was to fit streamline(Experimental Streamline Bentley B.23.A.E)d front wings. These wings were started with the idea of fitting them on to the car which ran in the T.T. They were not, however, completed in time to be fitted to the car. One was finished but the second one was not completed. As a considerable amount of work had been done I considered that we should finish them and fit them on to a car in order to get experience with them. Mr. Hall did not expressly ask for these wings.

Item (2). - This was carried out at Mr. E.A. Hall's request and should be charged to him.

Item (3). - You will remember that in the T.T. Race at the finish of the Race one of the rear brakes were smothered with oil and this led us into designing the scheme to prevent this.

We fitted the parts to this car in order to gain experience with this improvement. We have since Standardised this modification. The parts which were removed from the axle were perfectly good Standard parts and have been used up.

Items (4) & (5). - This chiefly consists of changing the brake material. We are always anxious to gain experience with various grades of brake material and we removed the Standard brake material from this car and fitted the Ferodo EZ. for our own convenience of getting some experience with it.

Item No.(6). - Is replacing the Standard exhaust system on the car in place of the one used in the T.T.
