| DUNLOP RUBBER CO. LTD. TELEGRAPHIC ADDRESS: "DUNLOPS, PHONE, BIRMINGHAM" TELEPHONE: BIRMINGHAM CENTRAL 4108 (P.B.E.) EXTENSION No. 349. YOUR REF: OUR REF: LJL/G.122 FORT DUNLOP ERDINGTON BIRMINGHAM May 4th, 1936. W.A. Robotham Esq., Messrs Rolls Royce Ltd., DERBY. Dear Mr Robotham, Further to our 'phone conversation, we are sending for your attention to-day, four 7.00/18 Fort '90' tyres moulded with the tie-bar between the shoulder studs. Covers of this type are distinguished by a marking 'S.O.6529', which appears on the sidewall of the cover near to the serial number. (This special marking was unfortunately left off the first tyre out of the mould, but will appear on all the subsequent covers of this type which you require for your tests). We are sending the covers by car so that there will be no delay in you receiving them. At your suggestion we shall send the next set of 5 to London for the attention of Major Cox and the following 12 to France for the attention of Mr Hancock. Yours faithfully, For THE DUNLOP RUBBER CO. LTD. [Signature: F. {Mr Friese} Gambourn] Product Design Division. P.S. For your information I am enclosing a copy of the results of our tyre inspection at Lillie Hall on April 23rd. F.G. | ||
