| The ZENITH CARBURETTER CO LTD HONEYPOT LANE STANMORE MIDDLESEX CARS DRIVEN BY OUR STAFF ARE AT CUSTOMERS OWN RISK AND RESPONSIBILITY TELEGRAMS. ZENICARBUR. PHONE. LONDON. CODE A.B.C. 5TH EDITION ADJOINING QUEENSBURY UNDERGROUND STATION ALSO AT LYONS. PARIS. DETROIT. TURIN. BERLIN. TELEPHONE: WORDSWORTH 2213. File 22nd March, 1939. Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd., DERBY. 1033 Yr.Ref: Experimental Dept., Rm {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} /GR. {George Ratcliffe} 4/JH. Dear Sirs, We received your letter of the 10th inst., reference as above, and today have received the six carburetters referred to, and which you wish us to make up for the standard Wraith specification. We have very carefully inspected the carburetters returned, but after our examination we are of the opinion that it would be much better if we supply you with six brand-new carburetters at the normal contract rate, rather than carry out any work on these carburetters. We find that we can use the barrels, but these will have to be modified, and the other small parts which we can use are the throttle plates, throttle spindles, floats, float pins, cam levers, cam lever pivots, cam lever springs. Everything else on these carburetters is obsolete, and we feel sure you will agree with us that rather than go to the trouble and expense of making these carburetters up to Wraith's requirements, it will be preferable to supply six brand-new instruments of the line. We should therefore be pleased to know that this suggestion meets with your approval, when we will have six new carburetters prepared and sent to you. Assuring you of our close co-operation at all times, we are. Yours faithfully, THE ZENITH CARBURETTER CO. LTD. LNS/LT. | ||
