| To BY. {R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from Hs {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} /Rn. {Mr Robinson} X7420 Hs {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} /Rn {Mr Robinson} 6/LG17.12.28. 'SS {S. Smith} ' BRAKES. X7420 [handwritten over title] [strikethrough]X7370[/strikethrough] [handwritten over title] Will you please instruct [word 'xxxxxx' is crossed out] the SS. {S. Smith} chassis to be made experimentally to have 30° cams on the servo and the length of lever G.76811 to be increased by 25% i.e., the new length of lever will be 1.725 instead of the old length of 1.375. We have discussed the matter with DA. {Bernard Day - Chassis Design} and this alteration is necessary to make the brakes reasonably efficient until we can get some further scheme through.
