| NASH ENGINEERING CO., (Great Britain) Ltd. STEADY SUCTION As a result of the multi-blade rotor construction, the Hytor produces a vacuum or pressure entirely free from pulsation. CLEAN AIR Of advantage in many applications, such as the agitation of foodstuffs, etc., is the fact that air delivered by the Hytor is washed absolutely clean in its intimate contact with the sealing liquid, and can contain no oil, dust, or other foreign matter. OIL REFINERIES, CHLORINE, CHEMICAL PROCESSES Hytors are furnished in special bronze alloys for handling some of the acid gases. Mildly acid vapors may be handled successfully in the standard cast iron structure, by recirculating special sealing liquids in the place of water. For example: In handling chlorine, concentrated sulphuric acid is used as the seal. In oil refinery practice, light oils protect the pump interior and seal it. In chemical processes, other sealing liquids are adaptable to individual conditions. HANDLING LIQUIDS WITH AIR Important in many vacuum services, such as priming centrifugal pumps, is the fact that no precautions need be taken to prevent slugs of liquid from reaching the pump, as the Hytor will handle large quantities of liquid with absolute reliability, and without injury to the pump structure. DRY AIR Air delivered by the Hytor under pressure is freed entirely of entrained moisture, and is delivered saturated at the temperature of the water issuing from the separator. OTHER ADVANTAGES The starting load is light and the torque uniform, which makes the use of any convenient form of drive permissible. Hytors occupy very much less floor space and are much lighter in weight than any other type of compressor. They run without vibration. The cost of installation is greatly reduced as no expensive foundations are necessary. No expert attendance is required as there are no adjustments to make. The cost of upkeep is negligible. Hytors are quiet in operation. WORKMANSHIP The workmanship on these pumps is unsurpassed. The limit system of manufacture is used, and interchangeability of all parts is assured. Inspection is very rigid. It begins with the raw material, covers parts in process and finished parts as well as the completed pumps. Each pump is tested for capacity, vacuum and horse power. NASH ENGINEERING CO., (Great Britain) Ltd. SIMPLE IN CONSTRUCTION PUMP BODY Substantial in structure and accurately machined. The ellipse shown is an important element in the Hytor operating principle. See page 5. COMPRESSION IS BALANCED Eliminating all radial and end thrust. Big ball bearings carry only comparatively light weight of rotor and shaft. STEEL SHAFT Ample in proportion and accurately machined. Supported on over-size ball bearings of finest quality obtainable. STURDY ONE PIECE ROTOR In mechanical and hydraulic balance. Blades rigidly supported by center and side shrouds. 6 3 | ||
