| 606. [Redacted] re. Wraith Chassis With reference to Hm {Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs} /GBH1/SE50.8.39. This front brake pull rod has always been very close to the nuts securing the spring casing. As a matter of fact in the early days of Wraith we got your agreement to use, in bad cases, a 1/4" hexagon nut tapped out to 5/16". It is not just a simple matter of altering the lever to get more clearance in this position, as alterations were also made to this lever early on in Wraith, but if further alterations were made to the lever to increase the clearance of the rod across the nut, then the lever fouls the brake drum in full lock position. This is a point we watch closely when we are spring testing a chassis with a full load, and under these conditions we think it will be found that the rod does just clear the nut. LA {L. A.
